Our Learning is 'ALL about me'

This half term we are learning all about ourselves.  We are learning all about our families, using the family book made in F1 to look at how we look now and how we looked then. We are looking at where we live.

We will be encouraging the children to discuss their feelings and think about how they are feeling and why and when they feeling a certain emotion.

We will be discussing how we are all different, but all special.

Our Learning

This half term our topic is Lets Celebrate. We will be learning about how people have different beliefs and how they celebrate different special times. We will be celebrating Bonfire Night, Diwali, Birthdays and Christmas. Children will find different countries on a map

Our Focus Books

To start off the Spring term we are going to be looking at traditional stories. We will be using story language, acting out, thinking about the beginning, middle and end of each story. During this half term we will also be celebrating Chinese New Year.

Our Focus Books

This half term our topic is 'Down on the Farm'. We will be having chick eggs and looking at the life cycle of a chick. Take on the role of a farmer and creating a map of a farm and use our directional language to direct a Beebot around the farm.

Our Book Focus

Where the Wild Things Are is the new topic this half term. We will be exploring all different kinds of wild animals and there habitats, exploring the natural world around us and describing what we hear, feel, smell and see whilst outside. We will look and understand the effects of the changing season and also be doing lots of planting and observe growing and change over time.
