Dinner Menus

Our dinner menus will change weekly at the moment.  Children will have one day where their bubble will use the dining hall for a hot meal.  Otherwise they will be offered sandwiches, pasta pots, jacket potatoes and some other hot meals such as chicken nuggets and wedges that can be eaten in the classrooms.  Our kitchen staff are working hard to ensure the children have a wonderful lunch in school even though there have been some changes.

Scrumptious School Dinners

Canklow Woods Primary School has been awarded the 'Healthy Schools' Award and prides itself on the provision of nutritious, healthy home cooked meals for all children to enjoy.

Before the COVID restrictions, Children choose and order their school meal in the morning and are then given a coloured wrist band to indicate which meal they have ordered.  This has ensured that children receive their chosen meal and has worked very well to maximise food choice, increase satisfaction as well as reduce queuing times and wastage.  This system will therefore continue to operate within Canklow Woods Primary School.  Children can order a hot meal, this will include either meat or vegetarian option, or a jacket potato with various toppings.  Another option is to have a sandwich of their choice from cheese, tuna, ham, egg, chicken or bread and butter.

We are regularly involved in Theme Days throughout the year which give children the opportunity to try foods from different cultures and countries, as well as new foods from the UK.

The cost of school meals is £2.05 per day or £10.25 for the whole week.  Dinner money should be paid using our cashless system.

The school dinner menu are rotated on a three week cycle.  The menu for each forthcoming week is printed in the weekly Newsletter.  The three menu's are available to download below:
