Last week we were learning about Chinese New Year. We read the zodiac story and found out our zodiac animals, made lots of decorations, learnt how Chinese celebrate New Year and tried spring rolls, which would be eaten as part of the spring festival celebrations.

This week we hae been back to learning about penguins and exploring all things wintery. We also had a delivery of enormous tyres for a new project in our outdoor area! 


This week we have been having snowball fights in our classroom.  The children have been improving their hand eye coordination and physical skills.


Foundation enjoyed their sports afternoon this week. First steps joined with the F1s, they had fun running races and had a picnic in the foundation area. Lots of family and friends turned out to support the F2s it was a lovely atmosphere and the children had lots of fun.


F2 had a fantastic time at the Typical Butterfly house, they enjoyed feeding and meeting lots of different animals. They were all well behaved and are a credit to the school.


Parents and children had great fun from F2 on Friday afternoon working with RUFC in Our ' Family Sports Stars Session'. They played lots of different games and there were lots of smiles.


The children really enjoyed the man from 'Meet a creature' coming in and bringing lots of unusual creatures. They were extremely brave in holding and stroking the animals.


Our book this week is The Gruffalo. The children decorated biscuit to look like the Gruffalo


The children have enjoyed our story 'The Smartest Giant in Town' this week. They worked together to create a collage giant and also measured objects around the classroom.


All the foundation children enjoyed pond dipping with Jim, they found lots of different creatures including tadpoles, water snails, dragonflies etc. It was a fun day that I'm sure they will remember for a long time!


This week the children in our foundation 1 had an easter egg hunt.  It was great to see so many parents joining in with our F1 children on their Easter Egg hunt.  They all had lots of fun.


Children in F2 made an Eggshell garden using cress. They are excited to take them home and watch them grow. They then used the eggs to make yummy sandwiches.

Such a busy easter week in our foundation stage.


"This week we have been baking chocolate chip cookies. The children really enjoyed weighing the ingredients, rubbing the butter into the flour and rolling out the dough. They tasted yummy !"


 Foundation has really enjoyed having the ducks in class in this week, we will be sad to see them go back on Thursday.


Staff and children in Foundation were thrilled on Tuesday this week when Jenny came to visit with baby Charlie. Mum and baby are both doing really well and Charlie was a little star all afternoon!

Children in Foundation have really enjoyed the unexpected sunshine this week. Our F1 children were looking for four things to attach to their stick. Our F2 children had their story outside, then used their counting skills to play skittles.

This week our F1 children have enjoyed making space ships.  The children had a lovely time making aliens with their parents on Wednesday - it was great to see so many parents in class!"

Theo took home our class bear this week too, he was thrilled and  they had great fun together!

This week in foundation it has been super cold.  We have enjoyed the flurries of snow though but only through the window. 

We have played in the construction area, building some fantastic walls.  the puppets have been telling some amazing stories too.
